Homework is gonna KILL me!!!

So I remember the days of my children thinking that I knew it all.  And, thank goodness, Calvin still does and he'll tell you so.  Whenever he is at someone's house he makes sure to say my mom says this or that or my mom lets me do this or that.  How sweet!  However, then I have the girls who go to school and think that their teacher knows way more than me-and she may but I have a secret weapon(google).
Well, unfortunately Corynne doesn't always really "get" what the teacher is teaching so when she comes home I get to reteach all of it to her.  I will admit that I don't remember everything and that many things are done differently, however there is the lovely addition of Google which our parents didn't have.  Don't know what something means?  google it!  Don't know who first explored this land?  google it!  Too lazy to work out the complex math problems your child is bringing home???  You can type it right into the google task bar and it'll give you the answer!  That's right google it!  So, when Corynne tells me I'm wrong.  I tell her I may be, but google is not!
I want to be a part of my childs education, but seriously I pay taxes for them to take care of this at school.  I wanted to homeschool the kids for this exact reason.  Now, I totally understand that teachers don't have time to make sure that all the kids are learning everything.  They are too busy discipling all the kids and theres not enough time to get everything taught with all the "be quiet ", "please stop passing notes", "I said to sit in your seats".
Somehow with her 100% homework grades (although sometimes it would be easier if I just did it for her, I make her redo them and redo them until they are right), and her great ability to wiz tests she does great making all A's most report cards.  She always does awesome on standardized testing too.  At the end of the year last year they wanted to test her for the advanced math (she would have been doing 6th grade work in 5th grade).  We said NO WAY!  Can you imagine all the googling I would be doing.  Eeks!!!
I really do want to be a part of my kids education.  I want them to learn it at school and then for them to share with me what they are learning and help with the small struggles here and there.  I wanna teach them at home things that they get in school, like how to bake a cake, how to catch a fish, and of course how to google the answers for all the things they wanna know!
So, if one of these days someone finds me by the computer with a math sheet and no pulse you'll know that the HOMEWORK finally killed me!!
